Pathology

• arrest of myocardial morphogenesis
• hypertrophic left ventricular with deep trabeculations & with poor systolic function, with or without associated left ventricular dilation
• in some cases, the right ventricle is also affected

Genetics

• autosomal dominant type 1 associated with defects in DTNA
