Pathology

• complex basement membrane defects in kidney & skin
• systemic angiopathy appears to affect both small vessels & large arteries

Genetics

• associated with defects in COL4A1

Clinical manifestations

• hematuria
• bilateral large renal cysts

Laboratory

• urinalysis: hematuria
• kidney biopsy
• skin biopsy
