Introduction
neonatal form of dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa
Pathology
- diminished or abnormal anchoring fibrils at the dermal-epidermal junction
- electron-dense inclusions in keratinocytes
Genetics
- associated with defects in COL7A1
Clinical manifestations
- subepidermal blisters
- TBDN heals spontaneously or significantly improves within the first months & years of life
