Pathology
- ventricular hypertrophy
- usually asymmetric
- often involves the interventricular septum
Genetics
- associated with defects in TCAP
Clinical manifestations
- dyspnea
- syncope
- collapse
- palpitations
- chest pain
- symptoms can be readily provoked by exercise
- risk of cardiac failure & sudden cardiac death
