Introduction
Sharp or potentially sharp objects that come into contact with with blood must be disposed of in a sharps container.
This includes:
- hypodermic needles
- scalpels
- pipettes
* As of September 2008, patients my no longer use unapproved containers for disposal of sharps (i.e used bleach bottles, etc).
