Drug interactions
- coadministration of simvastatin with amiodarone increases risk of muscle injury, rhabdomyolysis, leading to renal failure or death.
- this risk is dose-related & increases when a dose of simvastatin > 20 mg per day is given with amiodarone
- do not use amiodarone with simvastatin dose > 10 mg QD[2]
