Drug interactions

• raloxifene (Evista) may diminish absorption of levothyroxine (Synthroid), resulting in diminished levothyroxine bioavailability.
• interaction occurs when drugs taken together, but NOT when separated by 12 hours.

Management

• advise patients to take one medication in the morning, the other at night
