Introduction
A transparent biconvex cellular body lying between the iris & the vitreous.
One of the refracting media of the eye, it consists of a soft outer part (cortical substance) with a denser central part (nucleus).
The lens is surrounded by a fine membrane, the capsule.
Pathology
- dislocation of the crystalline lens (intraocular lens) may occur as a result of trauma[1] (image CT)
