Introduction

Muscle of the deep, proximal, posterior compartment of the forearm.

Origin

• lateral epicondyle of the humerus
• radial collateral & anular ligaments
• supinator ridge of ulna

Insertion

anterior & lateral surface of radius

Action

supinates the forearm

Innervation

radial (posterior interosseous) nerve
