Introduction
Medial thigh muscles
Action
- Adduct the thigh
- Important stabilizing muscles during flexion & extension of the thigh Innercation:
- obturator nerve (lumbar spinal nerve L2-L4)
Physical examination
Testing of thigh muscles:
- Person lying in supine position with the knee straight
- Person adducts the thigh against resistence.
- If the adductors are normal, the proximal end of the gracilis & adductor longus can easily be palpitated
