Introduction
Arises at the bifurcation of the trachea, passes in front of the esophagus & enters the hilum of the left lung.
- gives off superior & inferior lobe bronchi
The bronchus is longer, of narrow caliber & more nearly horizontal than the right main bronchus, thus aspirated objects enter it less frequently.
