inferior frontal gyrus

Structure

• a broad gyrus on either frontal lobe running in an antero-posterior direction between the lateral Sylvian fissure & the inferior frontal sulcus

• it is divided by branches of the Sylvian fissure into 3 parts:
  • pars opercularis*
  • pars triangularis*
  • pars orbitalis

* The pars opercularis & pars triangularis constitutute a part of the frontal operculum
