Origin
Innervation
- entirely sensory
- innervates anterolateral cutaneous region of thigh
Course
- the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve arises from L2 & L3, runs inferolaterally on the iliacus muscle & enters the thigh posterior to the inguinal ligament, just medial to the anterior superior iliac spine
- it supplies the skin on the anterolateral surface of the thigh
