Introduction

Superior enlargement of the middle meningeal vein or lateral enlargement of the superior sagittal sinus into which they drain.

The lacunae lateralis often englarge with age to as much as 2 cm in the very old.

The lumen are filled with arachnoid granulations & dural trabeculae & lined with endothelium.
