Introduction
Most superior of the abdominopelvic splanchnic nerves.
Origin
- 5th or 6th to 9th or 10th thoracic sympathetic ganglia
Innervation
- carries presynaptic sympathetic fibers to the celiac plexus
- carries visceral afferents from the celiac plexus
Course
- passes inferiorly along the bodies of the thoracic vertebrae & penetrates the diaphragm to join the celiac plexus.
