Introduction

Benign skin appendage tumors with hair differentiation.

Clinical manifestations

  • lesions appear at puberty
  • distribution: face, less frequently on scalp, neck & upper trunk
  • lesions often begin as a few small pink papules, then gradually increase in size & number
  • lesion may be solitary or multiple
  • lesions may become quite large
  • lesions may appear nodular or as ill-defined plaques
