Introduction
Euthanasia involves a physician intervening to cause a patient's death directly. Distinguish from physician-assisted suicide.
Epidemiology
- illegal in all 50 states of the U.S.
- legal in the Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Luxembourg
- utilization of euthanasia in the Netherlands may parallel utilization of palliative care[2]
