Epidemiology
- found in subarctic & arctic regions including Canada, USA, northern Europe & Asia
- definitive hosts are dogs that pass eggs in their feces
- intermediate hosts are mice & other rodents
Pathology
- produces multilocular, alveolar lesions, which are locally invasive
