Introduction
The detection of light energy scattered or reflected toward a detector that is not in the direct path of the transmitted light. Nephelometry requires dilute solutions to keep absorption & reflection at a minimum. Nephlometric methods show linearity over a wider range than turbidometric methods. Nephelometry is useful for measuring the concentration of particles in a solution or suspension that are too large for absorption spectroscopy.
