Introduction
Named after nuclear chemist Glenn T Seaborg. First created in 1974 by Albert Ghiorso & colleagues at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories & independently by members of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia. The Berkeley work was confirmed in 1993 & they were credited with the discovery.

- does NOT occur naturally
- only a few atoms have ever been synthesized
