dolichol

Introduction

Dolichols are polyprenols (C80-C100), containing 16-20 isoprene units derived from isopentenyl pyrophosphate. Dolichol phosphate is a lipid carrier in N-glycosylation of glycoproteins. (see protein glycosylation, asparagine glycosylation)
