Introduction
monochloramine has molecular formula NH2Cl, dichloramine NHCl2 & nitrogen trichloride NCl3[1]
Epidemiology
- used as disinfectant in drinking water treatment as an alternative to chlorination
Pathology
- recently a decomposition product identified as chloronitroamide anion[2][3]
- although its toxicity is currently unknown, chloronitroamide has similarity to other toxic molecules[2]
