Introduction

Tradenames: Drysol, Xerac AC. (aluminum chloride hexahydrate)

Indications

• astringent in the management of hyperhidrosis
• topical agent in the management of acne vulgaris

Dosage

apply QHS: 20% (hyperhidrosis), 6.25% (acne vulgaris)

Drysol: 20% 37.5 mL

Xerac AC: 6.25% in 96% ethanol

Adverse effects

irritation (1-10%)
