Dosage
Tabs: 625 mg
Adverse effects
- better tolerated than older bile acid resins
- less likely to cause constipation
- constipation, heartburn, nausea, eructation, bloating
Drug interactions
- less likely interfere with absorption of other drugs than older bile acid resins
Mechanism of action
- bile acid sequestrant
- lowers LDL-cholesterol by 19%
- lowers plasma glucose by unknown mechanism[2]
