Introduction
Structurally conserved domain of about 170 amino acids, forming a hydrophobic lipid binding pocket. The pocket floor consists of 6 beta-strands & the sides are formed by alpha-helices.
It is found in:
- GTPase-activating proteins
- guanine nucleotide exchange factors
- hydrophobic ligand binding proteins
- retinaldehyde-binding protein
- alpha-tocopherol-binding protein
