- specific electron acceptor for several dehydrogenases
- 5 acyl-CoA dehydrogenases
- glutaryl-CoA dehydrogenase
- sarcosine dehydrogenase
- transfers electrons to the main mitochondrial respiratory chain via ETF-ubiquinone oxidoreductase (ETF dehydrogenase)
