Introduction

The process by which neurons communicate with each other. Specialized structures or synapses facilitate neurotransmission. Synapses many be electrical or chemical; in most cases neurotransmission refers to chemical synapses. The message is transmitted across the chemical synapse by means of neurotransmitters.
