Introduction
In reference to inhibition by means of allosteric modulation of enzyme or receptor activity through binding to a site other than the active site (enzyme) or ligand-binding site (receptor). The extent of inhibition is thus NOT directly proportional to the relative amounts of substrate & inhibitor present.
