Introduction
A cyst formed in tissues of intermediate hosts of Echinococcus.
Etiology
Clinical manifestations
- majority of cases are asymptomatic
- swelling without warmth or tenderness
- symptoms related to infection of a cyst occur in ~25% of patients
Laboratory
Radiology
- magnetic resonance imaging (case report) with images[2]
Complications
- rupture into the biliary tree, obstruction, fibrosis, & enterocutaneous fistula
- rupture with leakage into the peritoneum & subsequent anaphylaxis
