Function
- converts cis or trans beta-gamma unsaturated fatty acyl CoA derivatives to trans alpha-beta unsaturated isomers
- able to isomerize both 3-cis & 3-trans double bonds into the 2-trans form in a range of enoyl-CoA species
- fatty acid beta-oxidation cycle; auxiliary isomerization steps (3Z)-dodec-3-enoyl-CoA = (2E)-dodec-2-enoyl-CoA
Structure
- homodimer (putative)
- belongs to the enoyl-CoA hydratase/isomerase family
Compartment
Alternative splicing
named isoforms=2
