Function
- UDPGTs are of major importance in the conjugation & subsequent elimination of potentially toxic xenobiotics & endogenous compounds
- active on polyhydroxylated estrogens (including estriol, 4-hydroxyestrone & 2-hydroxyestriol
- active on xenobiotics, including 4-methylumbelliferone, 1-naphthol, 4-nitrophenol, 2-aminophenol, 4-hydroxybiphenyl & menthol
- capable of 6 alpha-hydroxyglucuronidation of hyodeoxycholic acid
UDP-glucuronate + acceptor <--> UDP + acceptor beta-D-glucuronoside
