- phosphorylated on Thr
- phosphorylated form is found in the cytoplasm but not in the nucleus (putative)

- contains 1 helicase C-terminal domain

- detected in both cytoplasm & nucleus of testicular cells
- also detected in chromatoid bodies of round spermatids

Expression
- highly expressed in the Leydig & germ cells of the testis
- weakly expressed in pituitary & hypothalamus
