Indications

• skin lesion refractory to medical therapy

Procedure

• derives its name from the appearance of the postoperative wound
• after an incision is made in the shape of a 'V', the apex of the 'V' is closed by advancing the central portion
• this leaves a scar that looks like a 'Y'.
