• Anterior division of internal iliac artery

Course

• Runs medially in base of broad ligament superior to cardinal ligament, crossing superior to ureter, to sides of uterus

• inferior epigastric artery

• uterus
• ligaments of uterus
• uterine tube
• vagina
• supplies maternal circulation to placenta during pregnancy

Notes

This artery is the female homologue to the artery of the ductus deferens (deferential artery) in the male.
