Pathology
- leukoplakia resulting from pipe or cigar smoking
- rarely undergoes malignant transformation
- regresses with cessation of smoking
- confined to the palate
Clinical manifestations
- appears as diffuse whitish thickening of the mucous membranes studded with multiple red dots (openings of salivary glands)
