Etiology
- occurs when the patient falls & is immobilized for several hours
Epidemiology
- common among elderly living alone in the community
Pathology
- muscle damage leads to rhabdomyolysis
- rhabdomyolysis leads to renal failure
Clinical manifestations
- dehydration
- delirium
- pressure ulcers
- hypothermia
- rhaddomyolysis
- renal failure
