- small cystic outpouching of the renal papillary collecting ducts
- does NOT lead to a decrease in glomerular filtration rate
- ectactic ducts of Bellini (papillary ducts)
- nephrocalcinosis
Genetics
- autosomal dominant form
- sporadic form
Clinical manifestations
- nephrolithiasis
- renotubular abnormalities
Laboratory
Radiology
- excretory urography:
- dilated collecting ducts
- unilateral, bilateral or involving a single papilla
- calcifications of collecting ducts may be visualized on plain radiographs
