Clinical manifestations
- hemorrhagic pericarditis
- often occurs predialysis
- hemodialysis is helpful
Differential diagnosis
- uremic exacerbation of viral pericarditis
- may be hemorrhagic
- tamponade may occur
- can occur in well-dialyzed patients
- intrapericardial steroids often necessary
Management
- hemodialysis for uremic pericarditis including stage G5 chronic kidney disease
