penicilloate moiety (minor determinant)

Introduction

The penicilloate moiety or minor determinant results from reaction of beta-lactam ring of penicillins & cephalosporins with endogenous proteins. This forms a hapten-protein complex, less abundant than penicilloyl moiety (major determinant).
