Introduction
Tradename: Dovonex. A synthetic 1,25 dihydroxy vitamin D3 analog.
Indications
- psoriasis
- venous stasis ulcers (insufficiency)
Dosage
topical: apply BID Ointment 0.005%. 60g & 100g.
Monitor
- serum Ca+2 baseline & regularly
- discontinue if hypercalcemmia & monitor serum Ca+2 weekly until levels normalize[4]
Adverse effects
- not common (1-10%)
- burning, stinging, pruritus, erythema, facial dermatitis
- transient elevation of serum Ca+2 may occur
