Introduction

Tradename: Retevase.

Indications

acute myocardial infarction

Dosage

• 10.8 units IV over 2 minutes
• repeat dose in 30 minutes
• for use with unfractionated heparin or LMW heparin

Adverse effects

• intracerebral hemorrhage 0.8%

Mechanism of action

• plasminogen activator
  • minimal fibrin selectivity
• retavase is a fragment of tissue plasminogen activator that contains kringle 2 & the protease domain
