Indications

• Leishmaniasis
  • available from CDC (404 639-3670)
  • 20 mg Sb[V]/kg IM/IV for 20 days cutaneous leishmaniasis & 28 days visceral leishmaniasis

Adverse effects

• myalgia
• arthralgia
• fatigue
• hepatotoxicity
• chemical pancreatitis
• electrocardiographic abnormalities
• increasingly common as treatment progresses
• generally do not limit therapy
• effects are reversible
